The first step involves removal of the engine coolant inlet pipe. Begin the replacement by unbolt the heat shield bolts from the exhaust manifold before detaching the heat shield completely. The technician should remove the lower exhaust manifold heat shield retainers then the lower exhaust manifold heat shield when required for access. Begin the installation process by mounting the lower exhaust manifold heat shield followed by installation of its retainers if needed. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield onto the exhaust manifold and fasten its heat shield bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in) torque. Reinstall both the engine coolant inlet pipe together with the fuel injector sight shield.
