How to replace the exhaust heat shield for the center bearing on 2005 Cadillac STS?

Before installing a new Exhaust Heat Shield for the center bearing the vehicle needs to receive support through a proper lifting method. Loosen and eliminate the bolts that join the center bearing heat shield to the center bearing. Position the heat shield so that it can be withdrawn using a sideways angle from among the body, drive shaft center bearing and exhaust pipes. The new heat shield installation starts by placing it between body components and the Drive Shaft center bearing alongside the exhaust pipes while matching all holes. Fasten the bolts that hold the center bearing heat shield to the center bearing by applying torque of 8 nm (71 inch lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
