- Q: How to replace the left exhaust manifold (LH2) on 2005 Cadillac STS?A: The first step for replacing the left Exhaust Manifold (LH2) requires unscrewing the heated Oxygen Sensor pigtail from the wiring harness connector followed by removing the left Exhaust Manifold heat shield. Dispose of the bolts after removing heated oxygen sensors and left Exhaust Manifold bolts as well as nuts from the system. You should remove all the Exhaust Manifold studs from the engine before taking out the left Exhaust Manifold along with its original gasket end maintain its separate parts yet avoid reinstalling the gasket. A thorough inspection combined with cleaning must happen to all left Exhaust Manifold components before you install them. Apply a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket before inserting the left Exhaust Manifold together with this gasket onto the left Cylinder Head. Position the left Exhaust Manifold studs followed by nuts and new bolts; tighten the Exhaust Manifold studs to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.) while the Exhaust Manifold nuts require 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and Exhaust Manifold bolts need 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). After removing the heated Oxygen Sensor reinstall it and then add the Exhaust Manifold heat shield afterwards to finish with attaching the heated Oxygen Sensor pigtail to the wiring harness connector.
