How to replace the center exhaust heat shield on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

A vehicle lifting and support system must be implemented before proceeding to replace the center bearing heat shield. Free the three bolts holding the center bearing heat shield to the center bearing. After tilting the shield left or right you can pull it out from between the body and the center bearing and the exhaust pipes before extracting it from the vehicle. Insert the new heat shield between body, drive shaft center bearing and resonator while keeping the holes matched with the center bearing holes. Fasten the center bearing heat shield bolts to their respective locations on the center bearing until they reach 8 nm (71 inch lbs.) torque after which you can proceed to lower the vehicle.
