A technician must raise a vehicle before they replace the sway bar bushing in FE1 and FE3 models. Begin by taking out the sway bar bracket bolt then proceed to bend the end of the sway bar bracket upward to detach them. You can separate the sway bar bushing by sliding the pry bar toward the rear of the shaft. The sway bar installation requires using a pry bar to move it rearward before placing the new bushing in position inside the bracket with its slit oriented forward. Next install the bushing by bending the sway bar bracket downward while keeping the sway bar centered before you fix the sway bar bracket bolts. The same bolts require 33 N.m torque setting (24 lb ft). Perform this task before lowering the vehicle.
