How to Replace the Coil Springs (FE7) on 2008 Cadillac DTS?

To change the coil spring (FE7), start by lifting and supporting the vehicle. Remove the tires and wheels, and raise up the Control Arm with a suitable jack. Take the electronic level control air tube off the shock and remove the two bolts that hold the shock to the Control Arm with the hex nut. Use the steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) and the coil spring compressor (J 44255). Slowly lower the Control Arm to lie on the support assembly, and take coil spring off. For installation, insert the coil spring into coil spring compressor (J 44255) with placing insulator in the Control Arm. Lift up the lower Control Arm and tighten the two shock bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Attach the adjustment link to the Control Arm and then tighten it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft), and additional 180 degrees. Replace the electronic level control air tube; attach to the shock; reinstall the original tires and wheels (tapping in the wheels nuts to 125 N.m (80 lb ft)). Lastly, lower the vehicle and inspect toe, adjusting if required.
