How to remove and replace the front coil springs and shock absorber on 2007 Cadillac DTS?

Before starting the work on a suspension strut gather the strut rod nut socket (J-35669) and strut spring compressor (J 45400). You should first take the strut out of the vehicle before placing it into the strut spring compressor (J 45400). Twist the spring compressor forcing screw until the coil spring reaches compression during free movement of the strut. Keep the strut shaft stationary with a 45 torx(R) socket during upper strut mount nut removal using the strut rod nut socket (J-35669). During strut disassembly from the strut spring compressor (J 45400) users should ease the forcing screw to extract the upper strut mount and coil spring. Insert the coil spring and upper strut mount inside the strut spring compressor (J 45400) before resuming the coil spring compression process. To install the strut on the coil spring place it inside the upper strut mount before applying the strut retaining nut loosely. While using a 45 torx(R) socket apply torque to the upper strut mount nut with the strut rod nut socket (J-35669) to 85 n.m (63 lb ft). End your work by taking the strut away from the strut spring compressor (J 45400) then reinstall it inside the vehicle.
