The replacement of Brake Pedal Position Sensor requires starting by removing the instrument panel insulator. Remove the connector's connector position assurance (CPA) but keep the connector in place before removing the electrical connector. The first step is to remove the screw before taking out the brake pedal position sensor. The installation requires a fresh sensor along with a brand new bolt. Position the sensor fork to the pin before rotating it so the sensor locator lines up with the extension bracket hole. The NEW brake pedal position sensor screw should be installed at 2 N.m (18 lb in) torque. Complete the connection of electrical wires before securing the CPA properly. Perform sensor calibration before putting back the I/P insulator.
