How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2008 Cadillac XLR?

To change the trunk latch, open the trunk and draw the center carpet back. Unscrew the electrical connector and release cable which is manual, followed by the rear fascia. Indicate the position of the latch, loosen the nuts and remove the latch. Install the latch again, reconnect the cables and replace the rear fascia.
