2008 Chevrolet Colorado Wheel Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the wheel cylinder on 2008 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: First lift the vehicle before starting the Wheel Cylinder replacement. Take off the rear Brake Shoe parts before disconnecting the Brake Line from the Wheel Cylinder and plugging it to stop contaminants from entering. Take off the Wheel Cylinder by first unthreading the mounting bolts then removing it from the backing plate. Secure the new Wheel Cylinder onto the backing plate by placing its mounting bolts and tightening them to 13 lb ft (18 N.m). Fit the Brake Line fitting to the Wheel Cylinder and secure it with 19 n.m final torque (14 lb ft). You should install the new brake shoes in the rear and perform proper brake system bleeding procedures. Bring the vehicle down to the ground and measure the master cylinder reservoir level for fluid.
