Chevrolet Colorado Wheel Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wheel cylinder on Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Lift the vehicle to access the Wheel Cylinder and remove all Brake Shoes behind it first. To keep dirt out protect the Brake Line opening using a plug when disconnecting it from the Wheel Cylinder. Unbolt the Wheel Cylinder and set it off the backing plate to move forward. After positioning the new Wheel Cylinder on the backing plate simply attach it with the mounting bolts and tighten them to 13 ft. Lbs. (18 Nm). Push the Brake Line rubber plug aside and link it to the Wheel Cylinder before placing the Brake Line fitting tightly at 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.). Put back the brake shoes at the back and you need to purge the brake system. Lift up the vehicle once work is finished and make sure your master cylinder holds enough brake fluid.
