2008 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Front A/C Hose on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to replace the evaporator front tube of the air conditioning system is to recover the refrigerant from the a/c system. The correct procedures must be applied to remove the battery regardless of whether you have a 6.0l or 7.0l engine model. You need to disconnect the a/c tube connector from evaporator rear line assembly and detach the front evaporator inlet line from its body retaining clip that holds the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector. After raising the vehicle for support workers should disconnect and remove the front evaporator inlet line to A/C Condenser lower bolt while capping or taping open a/c components to avoid contamination. The front evaporator line inlet needs disconnecting from the A/C Condenser while removing its sealing washer and sealing the condenser by capping and taping it. Next lower the vehicle and take off the front evaporator inlet line from the evaporator rear line assembly and remove the o-rings while putting caps or tape on the evaporator rear line assembly. Remove the front evaporator inlet line from the vehicle by disconnecting the surge tank outlet hose and the inlet heater hose from their underhood junction box retainer clip. The front evaporator inlet line should be connected to the vehicle first and then the surge tank outlet hose and inlet heater hose should be installed to the underhood junction box retainer clip. The evaporator rear line assembly should have the cap or tape removed while new o-rings are installed to the rear evaporator line assembly. The front evaporator inlet line needs to be connected to the evaporator rear line assembly while the vehicle is raised then the A/C Condenser needs to have its cap or tape removed. The A/C Condenser receives the front evaporator inlet line which now utilizes a fresh sealing washer installation. Let the front evaporator inlet line extend to A/C Condenser lower bolt and tighten it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). You should lower the vehicle before connecting the front evaporator inlet line to the body retaining clip while you also reinstall the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector. The technician must connect the a/c tube connector at the evaporator rear line assembly then install the battery and perform an evacuation and recharging of the a/c system while using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) for fitting leak testing.
