2008 Chevrolet HHR Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the blower motor on 2008 Chevrolet HHR?
A: You must first take out the right sound insulator and then the instrument panel compartment to install a new Blower Motor. Unplug the electrical connector of the Blower Motor then detach its lower retaining screws to access the motor cover. Cut the Blower Motor nuts through the case straight and gradually to maintain the motor cup for reuse. Trim through the case between motor circular ribs with a utility knife to retrieve the blower unit and cup. Free the retaining tab to detach the motor from the cup assembly. You should place the Blower Motor into the motor cup that came from the lower case opening and screw in the Blower Motor nuts, tightening them to 2.4 n.m (21 lb in). Use kit screws to link the service ring to the motor cup while tightening them to 1.8 n.m (15 lb in). Guide the Blower Motor towards the back when inserting it into the hvac module with the kit screws. Use care when screwing the motor to a torque setting of 1.8 n.m (15 lb in). Set the lower Blower Motor cover and screws in place, torquing them to 15 lb in (1.8 N.m), then reconnect the Blower Motor power connection. Put the instrument panel components back into place followed by the right sound barrier.
