How to replace the rear axle shaft on 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

A vehicle must be properly lifted while workers remove the tire followed by its wheel to replace the rear Axle Shaft. Before your replacements begin you must eliminate the brake caliper together with the rear Wheel Speed Sensor. First remove the rear axle housing cover together with the gasket while moving next to the pinion shaft locking bolt. Remove the pinion shaft completely from axles that lack locking differentials while partially retrieving it when the Differential contains this feature so the shaft aligns with the housing. Push the flange of the Axle Shaft toward the Differential after you align the c-lock with the thrust block through screwdriver rotation. Then remove the c-lock from its button end on the Axle Shaft. It is essential to prevent rotating the Axle Shaft while removing it to maintain proper gear alignment. The j 45859 (Axle Remover) combined with the j 2619-01 (Slide Hammer) should be used to extract the axle when removal proves challenging. When installing the Axle Shaft you should gently feed it into the rear axle housing where it should fit correctly with the Differential side gear splines. When working on axles without locking differentials install the c-lock on the button end of the Axle Shaft but those with locking differentials need the pinion shaft partially withdrawn and the c-lock should go on the Axle Shaft with both ends aligned to the thrust block. To install the new locking bolt put the flange opposite the Differential gear until the c-lock seats then match the pinion shaft hole to the Differential case hole and fasten the bolt properly to 36nm (27lbft) for 8.0/8.6 inch axles or 50nm (37lbft) for 9.5 ld inch axles. To complete the repair replace the rear axle housing cover alongside the gasket and install the brake caliper and rear Wheel Speed Sensor with a tire and wheel assembly then refill the rear axle with the required axle lubricant before the vehicle descent.
