2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the power vacuum brake booster on 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: To remove the power vacuum Brake Booster, turn off the ignition system, set the parking brake, and remove the master cylinder. Unhook the vacuum hose on both the vacuum booster and the engine and then take off the left closeout/insulator panel. Next, pull out the Pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin, the stop lamp switch as well as the Pushrod from the same pin. Unscrew the vacuum booster mounting nuts together with the vac booster assembly and the gasket merry go round. When installing, you should begin by inserting the gasket followed by the vacuum booster assembly and fasten the tri-packs of vacuum booster mounting nuts to a torque of 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Place the stop lamp switch onto the Pushrod and mount it on the brake pedal pin, then push rod retainer, that will snap into the place. Put back the left close out/insulator panel and vacuum hose to the booster and the engine and the last part of putting back is the master cylinder.
