2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front wheel bearing, hub, and seal on a 4WD on 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: A 4wd vehicle requires you to take off the tire and wheel center cap followed by the drive axle nut to access the front wheel components. Rise the vehicle with a support stand and detach the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the brake rotor before moving ahead. Use the hammer and brass drift to hit against the wheel drive shaft end yet keep its connection with the Wheel Hub and bearing. Unscrew and withdraw the ABS Sensor mounting bolt and ABS Sensor from their position in the Wheel Hub and bearing. Afterward detach the Wheel Hub and bearing by unscrewing its bolts then remove it from the Steering Knuckle before taking off the splash shield. Onset starts by mounting the splash shield to the Steering Knuckle and activating it onto the threaded slots. Insert the Wheel Hub and bearing onto the Steering Knuckle with precise threaded placement then tighten its mounting bolts to 105 n.m (77 lb ft). Afterward attach the ABS Sensor to its base and fasten the mounting bolt at 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Set back the brake rotor and add the wheel and tire before lowering the vehicle. Twist the drive axle nut until it reaches 140 n.m (103 lb ft) and put back the wheel center cap.
