Chevrolet Trailblazer Wheel Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front wheel bearing on Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: Start replacement by first taking off the tire and wheel center cap then the drive axle nut. Lift your vehicle by supports and take off the tire wheel and brake rotor jointly. Hit the outer end of the wheel drive shaft with a brass drift to separate it from the Wheel Hub before handling the Wheel Bearing completely. First take out the ABS Sensor bolt and detach the ABS Sensor from its Wheel Hub bearing location. Unscrew all mounting bolts to pull out the Wheel Hub and bearing from their position on the Steering Knuckle. Afterward, take away the splash shield attached to that same piece. Begin installation by putting the splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle and placing its threaded holes directly above their positions. Position the Wheel Hub and bearing at the Steering Knuckle properly then fasten the bolts with 105 nm (77 ft. Lbs.) of torque. Install the ABS Sensor before adding its mounting bolt then torque it at 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Install the tire and wheel units back onto the brake rotor before lowering the vehicle. End the process by putting the drive axle nut on first then tightening it to 140 nm before adding the tire and wheel center cap.
