Install the dust cap, outer tie rod to the steering knuckle, brake rotor, and tire and wheel.

Clean all corrosion or contaminants from the steering knuckle bore and the hub and bearing assembly, then lubricate the steering knuckle bore.

Remove the tire and wheel assembly, followed by the axle shaft.

Ensure all parts are clean and grease-free, then apply high-temperature front wheel bearing grease to the spindle at the inner and outer bearing seat, shoulder, and seal seat.

Remove the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts, and then take out the wheel hub, bearing, and splash shield from the steering knuckle.

Install the outer bearing, washer, and nut, then adjust the wheel bearings.

First, raise and support the vehicle.

Install the backing plate to the wheel bearing/hub and brake rotor assembly.

Install the wheel hub and bearing along with the splash shield to the steering knuckle, ensuring to install the wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts and tighten them to 180 Nm (133 ft. lbs.).

Reinstall the wheel speed sensor to the wheel hub and bearing, securing it with the retaining bolt tightened to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).

Install the wheel bearing spacer into the wheel hub with the tabs facing the inner wheel bearing.

Torque to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).

The Rear Axle Seal and Bearing Remover (J 44685) and the Slide Hammer (J 2619-01).

Attach the retainer and cotter pin to the wheel drive shaft nut.

Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to the wheel hub and bearing, tightening it to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

Use the J 21128 - Axle Pinion Oil Seal Installer to install the axle shaft seal, driving it until it is flush with the tube.

The Rear Axle Seal and Bearing Remover (J44685) and the Slide Hammer (J2619-01).

Remove the ABS sensor mounting bolt and the ABS sensor from the wheel hub and bearing.

18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

Install it onto the steering knuckle, aligning the threaded holes, and secure it with the mounting bolts, tightening them to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).

Disconnect the electrical connection for the wheel speed sensor.

Take off the axle nut dust cover, then remove the cotter pin and retainer from the wheel drive shaft nut.

Install the drive axle nut, drawing the hub and bearing onto the axle, and tighten the nut to 140 Nm (103 lb ft), then finish by installing the tire and wheel center cap.

Detach the wheel speed sensor and brake hose mounting bracket bolt.

Remove the rear axle housing cover and gasket, then take out the axle shaft.

Begin by removing the tire and wheel center cap, followed by the drive axle nut.

Ensure the retaining ring is fully seated in its groove.

Reinstall the rotor and the tire and wheel.

Remove the ABS sensor mounting bolt and the ABS sensor from the wheel hub and bearing.

First, raise the vehicle and remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Install the tire and wheel assembly.

Install the washer, nut, and cotter pin, tightening the nut to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.) while turning the hub/rotor assembly by hand.

Install the outer bearing, washer, and nut, then adjust the wheel bearings.

Use the J 23690 - installer and the J 8092 - driver to install the axle shaft bearing.

Place a brass drift against the outer end of the wheel drive shaft and strike it with a hammer to protect the threads; do not remove the wheel drive shaft at this stage.

Remove the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt and the wheel speed sensor from the wheel hub and bearing.

Take off the axle nut retaining ring, key, and adjusting nut using the J2222-C.

Install the Wheel Bearing Remover (J29712) into the axle housing behind the axle bearing and tighten the nut on the Wheel Bearing Remover (J29712).

Begin by raising the vehicle and removing the tire and wheel assembly, followed by the rear axle housing cover.

Install and tighten the wheel hub to knuckle bolts to 180 Nm (133 ft. lbs.) for both the 15 series and 25/35 series.

Install the nut and washer retaining the wheel drive shaft assembly to the wheel hub and bearing, tightening the nut to 240 Nm (177 ft. lbs.).

Detach the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle and remove the brake rotor.

Remove the wheel driveshaft assembly retaining nut and washer from the wheel driveshaft.

Remove the retaining ring from the wheel hub, followed by the outer hub bearing and bearing cup using the J 24426 and J 8092.

Reinstall the rotor and the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
