2009 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Radius Heat Shield on 2009 Buick Lucerne?
A: A mechanic should lift and stabilize the vehicle before starting a replacement on the steering gear heat shield. Surface the stabilizer shaft links and drive the stabilizer shaft into its lowest possible position. The first step removes the plastic clip attached to the power steering gear heat shield followed by disassembling both retaining bolts and the heat shield itself. Position the new power steering gear heat shield in place then fasten its retaining bolts while tightening them to 9 nm torque (80 lb in) specification. Reinstall the vehicle after you reconnect the plastic clip to the heat shield and put back the stabilizer shaft links.
