    In order to remove the steering gear heat shield, first, raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the stabilizer shaft links, and then turn the stabilizer shaft down. Now, pull out the plastic clip on the power steering gear heat shield, then the retaining bolts and remove the heat shield as well. For installation, also install new power steering gear heat shield in place and make sure to refer to the fastener notice. Support the assembly by the cut out and install he retaining bolts and tighten the bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reconnect the plastic clip to the heat shield and reinstall the stabilizer shaft links before lowering the vehicle.
