- Q: How to replace the Engine Coolant Fan Shroud (LC3, LY7) (4.4L SC, 3.6L) on 2009 Cadillac STS?A: The operation starts with removal of the air cleaner and front compartment sight shield but before continuing with replacing the engine coolant Fan Shroud (LC3, LY7) (4.4L SC, 3.6L). The cooling fan electrical connectors should be disconnected before you remove the auxiliary Water Pump with hoses and pipes. First disconnect the condenser tube from its retainer clip on the cooling Fan Shroud then pull apart the surge tank inlet hose from the Fan Shroud before putting it aside. The service requires removal of the retaining bolts holding the cooling Fan Shroud to the Radiator before taking out the cooling fan assembly. Begin cooler fan assembly installation by replacing it into its original position. The cooling Fan Shroud needs two retaining bolts installed on the Radiator while reaching a torque of 5.4 nm (48 lb in). Connect the surge tank inlet hose to the cooling Fan Shroud before mounting the auxiliary Water Pump and its hoses back into position. Use this final step to reattach all the hoses along with pipe connections after you install the electrical connectors of the cooling fan and replace both the front compartment sight shield and air cleaner.
