  A: To replace the hood primary latch Hood Cable, one should start by unlatching the hood and unclasping the Hood Latch. Detach the hood release cable from the Hood Latch and attach a piece of string to it to make it easier with installing through the engine compartment. Next, take out the three fasteners that hold the hood release handle to the vehicle and disconnect the hood release cable from it. Once more, put a piece of string around the cable for easier routing. Take out the hood release cable from the vehicle by releasing the hood release cable grommet from the wheel opening. For installation, move the string to the other end of the new hood release cable and both, route them into the passenger compartment and then take off the string. Attach hood release cable to hood release handle and seat hood release cable grommet in the wheel opening. Install the three fasteners to fasten the handle to the vehicle, tighten it to 2 nm (18 lb in). Pull the string and the hood release cable through the engine compartment and remove the string, then connect the cable to the Hood Latch before re-installing the Hood Latch. Finally, close the hood.
