  A: The Brake Booster vacuum reserve must empty out by repeatedly pushing and releasing the Brake Pedal to start replacement. When possible remove the vacuum power brake sensor electrical plug. Meanwhile take apart the vacuum power brake check valve and hose assembly from the Brake Booster opening. Untuck the electrical center and bracket before taking out the master cylinder. Separate Brake Pedal pushrod components by taking out the nut first then the washer before disconnecting it from the Brake Pedal pivot pin. Take out the power brake vacuum booster components including vacuum Brake Booster nuts during replacement while checking the power brake vacuum booster gasket condition to replace it when found damaged. Install the new vacuum booster gasket directly followed by placing the power brake vacuum booster . Fasten the two vacuum Brake Booster nuts and torque them to 17 nm (14 lb ft). Add gm high temperature grease gm p/n 12345996 (Canadian P/N 10953501) to the Brake Pedal pushrod pin before fitting it properly into the pedal pivot pin. Install the Brake Pedal pushrod washer and nut , fasten the nut to 10 nm (89 lb in). Connect the vacuum power Brake Booster check valve and hose assembly back to the Brake Booster location by using alcohol to assist attachment. Put back the master cylinder and the underhood electrical parts and bracket.
