How to replace the drive pinion bearings on an 8.6 Inch Axle on 2009 Chevrolet Colorado?

The procedure for drive Pinion Bearing replacement starts with vehicle lifter and axle support. Separate the Differential assembly along with its attached Differential drive pinion gear from the axle. Utility tools such as the dt 49275 - Pinion Bearing remover joined with j 22912-b - bearing remover should be used to extract both the Differential drive pinion gear bearing and spacer while placing a brass drift in the housing slots for balanced extraction of the cups. You need to detach both the inner and outer Differential drive pinion gear bearing cups through a combination of a hammer and brass drift. Start assembly of the drive Pinion Bearing cups by using needle bearing installing tool j 28677 with universal driver handle j 8092 followed by Pinion Bearing cup installer dt 49032 for the inner cup installation. The selective pinion spacer of appropriate thickness gets installed onto the pinion gear. Apply the j 22828 - input shaft gear installer supplemented with a hammer for installing the Differential drive pinion gear bearing together with the spacer while using axle lubricant for proper lubrication. After installing the Differential drive pinion gear outer bearing into the axle housing users can place the Differential drive pinion gear and finally add the new Differential drive pinion gear seal. The Differential assembly receives installation first followed by lubricant filling of the axle before uninstalling the support and lowering the vehicle down.
