How to replace the secondary fuel level sensor on 2009 Chevrolet Equinox?

A new Fuel Tank module seal needs to be acquired before starting the replacement process of the secondary Fuel Level Sensor because Fuel Tank module service requires this component each time. The Fuel Tank contains two separate fuel level sender unit and float assemblies which are installed on each Fuel Pump module yet cannot be used interchangeably. The first step requires removing the Fuel Tank with subsequent removal of the Fuel Pump module. First disconnect the fuel level sender unit with its floating electrical connector and then let go of the retaining tabs before sliding out the level sensor. Install the fuel level sender unit and float onto the Fuel Pump module by fitting the sender cap properly while attaching the electrical connector. Install the Fuel Pump module inside the Fuel Tank before completing tank reinstallment.
