The first step for primary Fuel Level Sensor replacement requires new Fuel Tank module seals for the primary and secondary modules since you need them for each Fuel Tank module servicing operation. You must start by taking out the Fuel Tank and then the Fuel Pump module. You should disconnect both fuel level sender unit and float electrical connector which sit under the top of the pump module. Next use retaining tabs (1, 2) to slide out the level sensor. To install the fuel level sender unit and float the technician should put them onto the Fuel Pump module before hooking up the sender cap (1, 2) and electrical connector. Reinstall the Fuel Tank after installing the Fuel Pump module into the Fuel Tank space.
