  A: The first step in Oil Filter and engine oil replacement involves supporting and lifting the vehicle. Place the drain pan underneath the engine oil Drain Plug and then take out the plug. Clean and inspect the Drain Plug before replacing it when required together with a visual inspection of the Oil Pan sealing surface which may need repair or replacement of the pan. The Oil Filter requires removal followed by cleaning of the Oil Filter adapter's seal region before replacing or repairing it if deemed necessary. Clean oil should be used to oil the replacement Oil Filter gasket before installing a new Oil Filter. Torque the filter to between 3/4 to 1 full turn after its gasket meets the mounting surface.
