How to replace a shock absorber on 2009 Chevrolet Equinox?

Beforereplacing the shock absorber one must raise the vehicle and find secure support. Disassembly of the rear tire along with the wheel assembly is necessary. The shock bolt and nut at the lower position require removal before removing the rear wheel house from the vehicle. After removing the upper shock bolt take the shock absorber out of the vehicle compartment. The installation process starts by placing the shock in the vehicle's position while both parts of the upper shock bolt must be tightened to 110 Nm (81 lb ft). The installation of the lower shock bolt requires the same wrench torque as 110 Nm (81 lb ft) for proper assembly. Place the rear wheel house into the vehicle after which reinstall the tire and wheel setup then proceed with lifting the vehicle back to its original position.
