How to replace the rear side door handle on 2009 Chevrolet Impala?

The replacement process for the rear side door outside handle starts with removing both the rear door trim panel and the rear door water deflector. Completely raise the window before using masking tape to protect the paint area surrounding the outside handle. The outside handle rod requires activation of its lock clip following the Door Lock operation to detach the rear Door Lock. You should start by removing the access tape covering the outside Door Handle bolt and taking out its three bolts that secure the rear Door Handle. Then insert the outside handle bolt through the latch hole. Remove the outside handle together with the rod from the door with caution. Place the outside Door Handle together with the rod inside the door while securing the outside handle bolt through the latch hole before tightening it to 10 nm (89 lb in). Secure the three bolts to the rear Door Handle while tightening each one to 10 nm (89 lb in). After reinstallation of the rear Door Lock complete the procedure by restating the outside Door Handle bolt access tape and its three rear Door Handle bolts. Finally, reinstall the outside Door Handle bolt access tape then connect the outside handle rod to the clip before shutting the clip cover. You should first check that the Door Handle works correctly then eliminate masking tape before replacing the rear door water deflector and trim panel.
