The first step to replace Crankshaft rear oil seal requires the removal of the Flywheel. The repair steps should be executed with care to prevent harm to the Crankshaft as well as seal bore. A suitable instrument should be used to extract the Crankshaft rear oil seal from its housing at the Crankshaft rear oil seal location before disposing of the original seal. Before installing the new Crankshaft rear oil seal lightly apply clean engine oil to its lip. Place the seal's plastic installation sleeve onto the center of the Crankshaft before installation. Use the rear seal installer tool (J 44215) together with a driver handle (J 8092) and a hammer to install the Crankshaft rear oil seal within the Crankshaft rear oil seal housing. Install the seal so it is square and reaches the full depth of the housing. Finally, reinstall the Flywheel.
