Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2009 GMC Canyon?
A: In order to replace the Intake Manifold, the Throttle Body, battery box, and oil level indicator and tube should be removed first. Unplug Brake Booster hose, engine wiring harness electrical connector from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, and engine wiring harness retainer from the Intake Manifold. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) dirty air tube from the camshaft cover, and remove generator. Remove the top 2 bolts fastening the engine wiring harness bracket to the Intake Manifold and disconnect the engine wiring harness retainer from the Intake Manifold. Transport and transport the vehicle to move to the rear of it until the remaining components are accessed through the wheelhouse, then remove the left front wheel and left front wheelhouse liner. Separate the wiring harness retainer for the Battery Cable, engine (4, 6), and MAP Sensor, and pull off the remaining engine wiring harness lower retainer bolt and retainer. Unbolt the Intake Manifold, lower the vehicle, remove the Intake Manifold from the cylinder head, dispose of the old seal, and mask off the open ports to avoid the unrelated foreigners into the engine. For installation, they are to be installed on a clean and dry sealing surface, for installation a new seal were to be placed into the Intake Manifold groove and install the Intake Manifold to the cylinder head. Lift and support the vehicle once more to reach the Intake Manifold bolts, engine wiring harness bracket bolts and wiring harnesses. Install the Intake Manifold bolts and tighten from inside outwards to 10 nm (89 lb in). Position the engine wiring harness bracket onto the engine, install the bracket bolts and secure the engine wiring harness retainers to the Battery Cable, engine (4, 6), and MAP Sensor. Reinstall the left front wheelhouse liner and left front wheel, lower down the vehicle and attach the engine wiring harness retainer to the Intake Manifold. Connect the generator, connect the dirty air tube of pcv to the camshaft cover, connect the engine wiring harness retainer to Intake Manifold and connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to MAP Sensor. Lastly, connection the Brake Booster hose to the Brake Booster, also fit the oil level indicator and tube and battery box and Throttle Body.
