Completely detach the transaxle shift cable terminal from the transaxle manual shift lever pin before pushing inside the locking tabs to separate the transaxle shift cable from its bracket. The left instrument panel (I/P) closeout/insulator panel needs removal before you can remove the shift cable retaining clip. Begin by extracting the shift cable from its positions at both the column control lever and steering column bracket and draw the cable through the cowl opening. During installation the shift cable must be properly run through the engine compartment after which it should be installed through the cowl before completing attachment to the steering column bracket. Secure the shift cable retaining clip on its designated position after placing it onto the column control lever. The left I/P closeout/insulator panel requires replacement first before installing the transaxle shift cable into its bracket and connecting the transaxle shift cable terminal to the transaxle manual shift lever pin. The shift cable needs proper adjustment before completion.
