2010 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace the Automatic Transmission Filter and Fluid on 2010 Buick Lucerne?
A: The first step to replace both automatic transmission fluid and filter is raising and supporting the vehicle. The automobile requires a drainage container positioned below the transaxle Oil Pan. The procedure of removing Oil Pan bolts requires gentleness toward sealing surfaces to prevent future fluid leakage. Start by loosening the front-side bolts of the Oil Pan before proceeding to just loosen the rear bolts by four turns. Pry open the Oil Pan slightly using a rubber mallet before checking the fluid drainage and examining the fluid color. Use the remover to take out the rest of the Oil Pan bolts while also removing the Oil Pan together with its gasket. Guide the long screwdriver under the Oil Filter and use it to extract the filter while examining the filter seal for racing and deterioration. You can safely remove the seal with the j 6125-1b (Slide Hammer) combined with j 23129 (Universal Seal Remover). Before inserting the new filter into the case, apply a tiny amount of j 36850 (Transmission Assembly Lubricant) or petroleum jelly to a new installed seal. The Oil Pan gaskets can be reused except when the sealing surface exhibits damage. The Oil Pan along with its gasket should be installed together before torquing the pan bolts to 14 nm (125 lb in). First lower the vehicle then fill the transaxle to its proper fluid level before inspecting transmission fluid level and checking the Oil Pan Gasket for fluid leaks.
