- Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 2 on 2010 Cadillac DTS?A: Handling Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 2 requires special care due to avoid damage by keeping both electrical connector and exhaust inlet side free of contaminants while cleaning solvents and unnecessary sensor handling should be avoided. The heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) require an engine temperature greater than 48°C (120°F) to become easy to remove. Start the procedure by disconnecting the oxygen sensor wiring harness heat shield and then separate the engine harness electrical connector from the HO2S before removing the sensor. During installation you should apply a special anti-seize compound with liquid graphite and glass beads to the HO2S threads. The threads of an old sensor require GM P/N 12377953 anti-seize compound when being reused. The installation requires you to tighten the HO2S to 41 Nm (30 lb ft) and reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the HO2S before reinstalling the oxygen sensor wiring harness heat shield.
