2010 Cadillac SRX Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2010 Cadillac SRX?
A: Begin by turning off the ignition switch then firmly depress the Brake Pedal several times until the power vacuum Brake Booster reserves are used. Place the right tool into the master cylinder reservoir to remove and dispose the brake fluid safely. Before any hose work start take out and set the radiator surge tank away from its position. Lift the dash panel cover and push the upper master cylinder heat shield to access the nut. Remove its heat shield nuts and the heat shield bolt before taking off the shield fully. Detach the fluid level indicator switch electric connector first while also blocking both primary and secondary brake pipe fittings using their respective caps. Act on the identical brake pipe fitting with its adapter. Loosen master cylinder nuts and take out the assembly with its o-ring seal. Set up new master cylinders on a workbench and bleed them to remove air particles. Also make sure the o-ring ring fits perfectly in its seat. Insert the master cylinder and o-ring seal afterward place the master cylinder nuts and tighten them to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Tighten first the primary brake pipe to 19 nm torque and then the secondary brake pipe to 19 nm. Connect the electrical wire for the fluid level indicator and fit the master cylinder heat shield when available. Tighten both the heat shield bolt at 10 nm and the heat shield nuts at 25 nm. Put the surge tank back in place while you perform the brake fluid bleeding procedure.
