• Q: How to replace the front brake disc on 2010 Cadillac SRX?

  A: You must lift and stabilize the vehicle before taking off the wheel and tire setup to swap the front Brake Disc. After detaching all bolts on the caliper bracket you must attach heavy mechanic wire underneath the brake caliper to keep the metallic parts from touching the hydraulic hose. Take off the brake caliper components without disconnecting the brake caliper hose before removing the brake caliper unit. To reinstall the Brake Disc start by tagging its position to the Wheel Hub then remove both Brake Disc bolt and Brake Disc. Clean new Brake Disc friction surfaces by wiping them with denatured alcohol. The ch-42450-a tool cleans rust from the hub/axle connection part while the ch-41013 product removes contamination from the rotor contact points. Place the Brake Disc back in position with the Wheel Hub when you use the same disc again. Attach the Brake Disc bolt and torque it to 9 nm (80 lb in) according to manufacturing instructions.
