  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2010 Cadillac STS?
    A: Before starting replacement of the Intake Manifold begin by turning off the ignition switch while also taking away the fuel injector sight shield. Hanging the purge line from the purge solenoid valve begins the procedure while you disconnect the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose from the Intake Manifold and remove the air inlet duct. Finally disconnect the purge solenoid valve electrical connector. First remove the wiring harness retainer before taking out the Throttle Body electrical connector. The next step involves bracket removal starting with the upper Intake Manifold stud followed by bolt extraction and secondly bracket deinstallation. This is followed by pcv hose removal from right bank camshaft cover and barometric sensor electrical disconnection along with intake runner control solenoid electrical disconnection. Extract the right rear bolt of the upper Intake Manifold while ensuring that cowl panel deflection is possible. Next, remove the injector harness bracket bolt and left bank ignition coil wiring harness from the bracket and then remove the upper Intake Manifold bolts. Take out the upper Intake Manifold with Throttle Body. You should disassemble the new upper Intake Manifold for cleaning and inspection. The installation process begins with assembling any new Intake Manifold followed by installation of a new upper Intake Manifold gasket and then the upper Intake Manifold. Begin by torquing the long bolts at the Intake Manifold's center then proceed toward the exterior at 23 nm (17 lb ft) torque. Connect the pcv hose and the barometric pressure sensor electrical connector to the correct positions on the right bank camshaft cover also connect the Intake Manifold runner control solenoid electrical connector. Secure the upper Intake Manifold brace by connecting the brace bolt at 65 nm (48 lb ft) and the brace stud at 10 nm (89 lb in). Check that wiring harness connectors latch correctly before inspecting the secure attachment visually. Step one establishes a connection between the Throttle Body electrical connector and the installation of wiring harness retainer. Then reattach the purge solenoid valve's electrical connector and purge line to its respective connection points. When complete reconnect the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose to the Intake Manifold then install the air inlet duct followed by reinstallation of the fuel injector sight shield.
