2010 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve in the air conditioning evaporator on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: A technician should start the process of replacing the thermal expansion valve (TXV) in the air conditioning Evaporator by extracting refrigerant from the a/c system. First disconnect the rear Evaporator line assembly followed by removing the txv mounting bolts before detaching the txv from the Evaporator to remove the part from the vehicle. The Evaporator core seal washers should be disposed and the core needs cap installation or tape application to cover it. The installation starts by removing the tape or cap from the Evaporator core followed by new seal washers. Connect the txv to the Evaporator core by adjusting its mounting bolts until they reach 7 nm (62 lb in) torque value. The a/c system requires evacuation and recharge after you reattach the rear Evaporator line assembly. The component fittings should be tested with j 39400-a - halogen leak detector as part of the final examination.
