2010 Chevrolet Corvette Evaporator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the air conditioning evaporator core on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The replacement of air conditioning Evaporator core begins with removing the hvac module and discarding the hvac module assembly foam seal. First unfasten the thermal expansion valve (TXV) mounting bolts until you can remove the txv from the Evaporator core keeping the sealing washers for disposal. Disconnect the electric wires connected to the dtm sensor while also separate the hvac module wiring harness retainer pin from the hvac module. First rearrange the Heater Core cover wire harness retainers aside followed by disconnecting all heater cover screws to remove the hvac module and heater cover before extracting the Heater Core. You will need to unscrew the hvac module case retaining screws and then separate the upper case from the lower case to obtain the Evaporator core. To install an Evaporator core, users should directly add specified pag oil amounts but should keep the side seal sections properly positioned against the corners. Place the Evaporator core into the hvac module after installing new side and upper seals and two lower seals at the core. Secure the upper case to the lower case by tightening all hvac module case retaining screws to 1.6 nm (14 lb in). Seal the Heater Core with new foam then fit it back into place followed by screwing its cover to 1.6 nm (14 lb in). Install the Heater Core cover wiring harness retarders to the hvac wiring harness before securing both the hydraulic pin of the hvac module harness retainer and dtm sensor electroical connectors. Finish the repair by mounting the Evaporator core with fresh washers and attaching the txv followed by bolting it to 7 nm torque (62 lb in) before putting back the hvac module.
