You should elevate and maintain the vehicle to proceed with right side Exhaust Manifold replacement on a v8 engine. The Exhaust Manifold requires separation from the Catalytic Converter before the vehicle can be lowered. The first step requires removal of the engine cover and the oil level indicator tube and then the Spark Plug Wires. First remove the Exhaust Manifold bolts which leads to the removal of the Exhaust Manifold while discarding the Exhaust Manifold Gasket and Exhaust Manifold to Catalytic Converter seal. Remove the Exhaust Manifold studs. After joining the Exhaust Manifold studs to their designated positions on the new manifold users can install the new Exhaust Manifold seal. Fastening operations require special attention. After placing the Exhaust Manifold at the Cylinder Head location you must tighten the bolts with 15 nm (11 lb ft) force first then 25 nm (18 lb ft) force on the second pass. Install the oil level indicator tube as well as the Spark Plug Wires back in place. Install the engine cover after attaching the Catalytic Converter to the Exhaust Manifold. Finally, inspect for exhaust leaks.
