    Q:
How to replace the right side exhaust manifold on 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines on Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The right side Exhaust Manifold replacement for 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l engines requires vehicle suspension and Exhaust Manifold pipe nut removal. Start by lowering the vehicle before removing spark plugs then Exhaust Manifold bolts underside the manifold alongside its gasket which should be disposed. You should remove heat shield bolts and shield from the Exhaust Manifold when required. Measure and clean the Exhaust Manifold before inspection. In order to install the heat shield along with its bolts onto the Exhaust Manifold you must tighten the bolts to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). The threaded hole sections in cylinder head Exhaust Manifold must be clean from debris and threadlocking substance before applying any sealant to only first three bolt threads. The procedure requires applying threadlock gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent along 5 mm (0.2 inch) wide areas on the Exhaust Manifold bolts threads. The installation process requires fitting the Exhaust Manifold combined with a new gasket and bolts that need initial torque to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) while starting with the center two bolts and moving alternately side-to-side towards the outside bolts before completing with a repeated pass at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) through the same pattern. Use a flat punch to bend the exposed edges of the Exhaust Manifold Gasket located at the front of the right cylinder head followed by the installation of spark plugs. Reposition the vehicle before installing the Exhaust Manifold pipe nuts at 50 nm torque values followed by the final step of vehicle lowering.

    Q:
How to remove and replace the exhaust manifold on the right side for 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines on Chevrolet Silverado 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for Exhaust Manifold replacement on the right side of 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l engines demands that you begin by raising and supporting the vehicle before uninstalling the Exhaust Manifold pipe nuts. First lower the vehicle and then eliminate the spark plugs before disassembling the Exhaust Manifold bolts and manifold pieces while discarding the old gasket. The Exhaust Manifold heat shield needs to be separated from the manifold by removing its bolts and shield components along with it. Refurbish the Exhaust Manifold first before securing the heat shield to it along with the bolts then fasten the bolts to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). The threads of the Exhaust Manifold bolts require a 5 mm (0.2 inch) wide strip of threadlock gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or similar product whose application must occur after clearing the clean threads of debris from the cylinder head Exhaust Manifold bolt hole areas. Fasten the Exhaust Manifold along with its new gasket and bolts by first tightening their center points to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) then moving to opposite bolts until reaching the outer bolts. After this initial phase complete an additional tightening to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) following the same bolt pattern. Create a bend on the exposed gasket edges of the Exhaust Manifold at the front right cylinder head using a flat punch before installing spark plugs. The vehicle increases in height to install Exhaust Manifold pipe nuts while tightening them to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) before proceeding with lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the right side exhaust manifold on 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L engines on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The exhaust replacement of the right side manifold for 4.8l, 5.3l or 6.0l engines starts by removing the Catalytic Converter from the exhaust then follows removing the engine cover and the oil level indicator tube. Proceed by removing both the Exhaust Manifold along with its bolts before cleaning every sealing surface. Begin installation by mounting the Exhaust Manifold followed by its bolts while you tighten the Exhaust Manifold bolts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) on the first phase and then to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) during the second phase. Reinstall the oil level indicator tube on the engine followed by attaching the Catalytic Converter to the Exhaust Manifold before placing the engine cover correctly.

    Q:
How to replace the right side exhaust manifold (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L) on GMC Sierra 3500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The right side Exhaust Manifold replacement process (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L) begins with heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) removal followed by vehicle suspension and subsequent removal of the Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold nuts and right wheelhouse liner before disconnecting Spark Plug Wires and ignition coils and extracting the engine block's oil level indicator tube bolt and tube. Begin the procedure by taking off the Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold nuts along with removing the right wheelhouse liner and disconnecting Spark Plug Wires from spark plugs through boot twisting by half turn and boot pulling. After removing the ignition coils follow by taking out both the oil level indicator tube bolt (419) along with the tube (420) from the engine block. Discard the Exhaust Manifold Gasket and seal as you proceed to take out the Exhaust Manifold bolts and Exhaust Manifold itself. When replacing the Exhaust Manifold users must remove all Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts while simultaneously disconnecting its shield from the exhaust pipe. Install the Exhaust Manifold heat shield by positioning it then fastening its bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Prepare each Exhaust Manifold bolt thread and apply gm p/n 12345493 threadlock (Canadian P/N 10953488) as a 5 mm (0.2 in) thick strip on the threads. Position the new Catalytic Converter seal alongside the Exhaust Manifold Gasket and Exhaust Manifold onto the cylinder head while verifying appropriate seating of the Catalytic Converter seal. Begin by installing the Exhaust Manifold bolts with an initial torque of 15 n.m (11 lb ft) that progresses from the center toward the outside bolts by alternating between sides before conducting a final torque of 20 n.m (15 lb ft) applying the same alternating sequence. A flat punch should be used to bend the gasket tab at the cylinder head edge while inspecting the o-ring seal (421) for damage before either replacement or lubrication of the o-ring with clean engine oil. Install the oil level indicator tube (420) while tightening bolt (419) to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Seamlessly reconnect the Spark Plug Wires with the spark plugs and ignition coils through a boot seating check by applying side pressure. Complete the procedure by putting back the right wheelhouse liner while the vehicle is fully raised then support it before you install the Catalytic Converter and Exhaust Manifold nuts which need tightening to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Finish by lowering the vehicle partially so you can work through the wheel opening and place the ho2s.
