Heat Shield, Passenger Side

The first step involves raising the vehicle before undertaking the replacement of the exhaust heat shield on the body panel. Use a 1/4 inch (6 mm) drill bit to remove necessary rivets from the heat shields and then remove the exhaust tailpipe heat shield followed by the muffler heat shield ending with the front exhaust pipe heat shield. To install the new shield begin with placing the front exhaust pipe heat shield onto the vehicle before securing it with the J34940 Rivet Gun (J34940). You must install the muffler heat shield after which you should secure it through rivets with the aid of the J34940 instrument. After securing the exhaust tailpipe heat shield with rivets from J34940 the worker should lower the vehicle.

Remove the safety stands to lower the vehicle.

Remove the heat shield itself.

Take off the heat shield.

Remove the exhaust system as necessary.

Follow the appropriate replacement procedure.

It is secured with rivets using the J 34940 Rivet Gun.

Remove the exhaust tailpipe heat shield first, followed by the muffler heat shield, and finally the front exhaust pipe heat shield.

Secure it with rivets using the J 34940 Rivet Gun.

Install it to the body panel and secure it with rivets using the Rivet Gun (J 34940).

Reinstall the exhaust system as necessary, remove the safety stands, and lower the vehicle.

First, raise and support the vehicle.

It is secured with rivets using the J34940 Rivet Gun.
