2010 Chevrolet HHR Fuel Rail Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: You need to utilize ch 48027 or without it as needed to remove fuel system pressure before starting Fuel Rail assembly replacement. The air cleaner assembly needs removal before disconnecting the fuel feed line quick connect fitting from the Fuel Rail and the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge tube from the Intake Manifold. The next step involves removing the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector together with the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector. Remove first the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector clips (4 and 5) from the Intake Manifold then remove the Fuel Rail studs. You must gently stretch the Fuel Rail upwards and backward to free the fuel injectors from the cylinder head ports before extracting the Fuel Rail. Reinstall the fuel injectors while using new lower o-rings and applying lubricant to the injector tip o-rings for installation. Place the fuel injectors with downward position while sliding them gently into the cylinder head ports. Attach the Fuel Rail bolts and torque each to 10 nm (89 lb in). After reconnecting both the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector and the map sensor electrical connector you should install the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector clips (4 and 5) to the Intake Manifold. Seal the evap purge tube as well as the fuel feed line quick connect fitting to the Fuel Rail. After reattaching the air cleaner assembly put on the negative Battery Cable. During the last check run the ignition for two seconds followed by ten seconds off before restarting to identify fuel leaks.
