Start by removing the Drive Belt which matches your engine configuration either the 3.5l or 3.9l. Shift the protective boot off the bat terminal at the generator output then unscrew the generator output bat terminal nut. Remove the engine harness terminal from the generator before disconnecting the generator electrical connector. First remove the generator bolt and stud then uninstall the generator bolt after which remove the generator itself. Install the generator into its position and tighten the generator bolt to a close fit before following safety instructions for fasteners. Secure the generator bolt and stud to 50 nm (37 lb ft) torque. Reconnect the generator electrical connector with the engine harness terminal to the generator. Install a torque of 30 nm (22 lb ft) on the generator output bat terminal while repositioning the protective boot. To finish the repair process restore the Drive Belt based on engine specifications then connect the negative terminal.
