How to replace the Cam Gear on the right side exhaust (Bank 1) on 2010 GMC Acadia?

The first step to replace the right side exhaust Camshaft position actuator (Bank 1) requires removal of the right hand secondary Camshaft intermediate drive chain. An open-end wrench should be used on the hex-shaped casting in the Camshaft to stop engine rotation while the Camshaft position actuator bolt is removed. The process begins by removing both the right exhaust Camshaft position actuator bolt followed by the right exhaust Camshaft position actuator itself. You should remove both the Camshaft thrust washer if it is installed. To install both components replace the exhaust Camshaft position actuator to its original position before adding the right side secondary Camshaft intermediate drive chain.
