2010 GMC Yukon Knock Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Knock Sensor on 2010 GMC Yukon?
A: Vehicle owners with 4WD should start by removing the left front wheelhouse liner during Knock Sensor 1 replacement. Start by removing the left front wheel with its tire from the vehicle. Move the engine wiring harness sleeve to inside the wheel well and unplug the engine wiring harness electrical connector which connects to the knock sensor. Begin by unscrewing bolt 739 from knock sensor (718). Position the knock sensor (718) onto the engine block and tighten it to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) through the knock sensor bolt (739). Secure the knock sensor with its bolt after reattaching the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the knock sensor. Then cover the connector with the engine wiring harness sleeve. To complete the installation put back the left front wheel and tire then install the left front wheelhouse liner if it was removed.
