Turn the ignition off and remove the key to lock the
Steering Column in order to replace the intermediate steering shaft seal. Pull off the intermediate shaft seal from the Steering Column and take off the intermediate shaft pinch bolt (11570329) from the intermediate shaft, detach the intermediate shaft from the Steering Column, documenting the alignment so that you can put everything back in-easy as you go!. Drop the shaft, intermediate one with great caution and reduce the shaft to achieve clearance. Trim the insulation surrounding the inner intermediate shaft seal to access its bolts and remove the bolts of the intermediate shaft seal. The intermediate shaft requires no removal from the vehicle. Next, come take off the intermediate shaft seal located inside the vehicle. For installation, install the intermediate shaft seal onto the intermediate shaft from within the vehicle and attach the intermediate shaft to the Steering Column as observed during removal. Install the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt (11570329) with the torque of 48 n.m (35 lb ft). Install the intermediate shaft seal bolts and tighten them to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Connect the intermediate shaft seal to the Steering Column making sure you turn the low off for the right clearance of the shaft to the seal and finally connect the lower part of the intermediate shaft seal to the steering gear.
