How to replace the intermediate steering column seal on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the intermediate steering shaft seal, one has to switch the ignition off and take away the key to lock the Steering Column. Pull the intermediate shaft seal from the Steering Column, then remove the intermediate shaft pinch bolt (11570329) from the intermediate shaft and disconnect the intermediate shaft from the Steering Column and writing down the alignment for re-assembly. Very gently bring down the intermediate shaft and fold it for clearance. Reduce the insulation from the inner intermediate shaft seal for the seal bolts to be visible and the intermediate shaft seal bolts (11570329) to be removed. The intermediate shaft need not be removed from the vehicle. Furthermore, extract the intermediate seal out of the vehicle. If it comes to fitting, install the intermediate shaft seal over the intermediate shaft from inside the vehicle and attach the intermediate shaft to the steering pillar as originally done while taking it out. Tighten the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt (11570329) to 48 n.m (35 lb ft). Put on the intermediate shaft seal bolts and tighten them to the strength of 3 n.m (27 lb in). Attach the intermediate shaft seal to the Steering Column making sure to rotate the lower seal to allow shaft to seal clearance and then paste the lower intermediate seal shaft to the steering gear.

Pull off the intermediate shaft seal from the Steering Column and take off the intermediate shaft pinch bolt (11570329) from the intermediate shaft, detach the intermediate shaft from the Steering Column, documenting the alignment so that you can put everything back in-easy as you go!. Drop the shaft, intermediate one with great caution and reduce the shaft to achieve clearance. Trim the insulation surrounding the inner intermediate shaft seal to access its bolts and remove the bolts of the intermediate shaft seal. The intermediate shaft requires no removal from the vehicle. Next, come take off the intermediate shaft seal located inside the vehicle. For installation, install the intermediate shaft seal onto the intermediate shaft from within the vehicle and attach the intermediate shaft to the Steering Column as observed during removal. Install the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt (11570329) with the torque of 48 n.m (35 lb ft). Install the intermediate shaft seal bolts and tighten them to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Connect the intermediate shaft seal to the Steering Column making sure you turn the low off for the right clearance of the shaft to the seal and finally connect the lower part of the intermediate shaft seal to the steering gear.

    Q:
How to replace the Steering Column Seal on the intermediate steering shaft on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the seal for the intermediate Steering Shaft, first of all, remove intermediate shaft. After that, remove the intermediate shaft seal. When installing the new seal, make sure that if the steering column to cowl panel seal is torn or is damage, it is replaced to avoid carbon monoxide to enter the vehicle, thereby causing immense personal injury or death. Once you are sure that the seal and inner race are in the correct position, install the intermediate shaft seal and after that reinstall the intermediate shaft.

    Q:
How to properly replace the Steering Column Seal on the intermediate shaft on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
Console functions begin with turning off engine ignition as well as removing the key responsible for locking the Steering Column. Proceed by taking the intermediate shaft seal off from the Steering Column and disconnecting the intermediate shaft from the column. Drive the intermediate shaft downward to achieve collapsion before the removal of intermediate shaft seal bolts occurs. It might become necessary to strip off the lower part of the intermediate shaft seal that exists within the steering gear. Begin by installing the intermediate shaft lower seal onto the steering gear then moving it to the intermediate shaft before applying the intermediate shaft upper seal above the lower seal present on the instrument panel. Install the intermediate shaft to the Steering Column then place the Steering Column's intermediate shaft seal while observing the fastener notice in service precautions. You should complete the installation by securing the intermediate shaft seal bolts at 3 nm torque (27 in. Lbs.).

    Q:
How to replace the intermediate steering column seal on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by clamping down the Steering Wheel in a straight-ahead position through the use of j-42640 (Steering Column Anti-rotation Pin) to protect the sir system from damage. Make sure the Steering Wheel remains locked before disconnecting the Steering Column and intermediate shaft(s) and steering gear components from each other. Any wheel rotation or front tire movement could un-center the sir coil assembly. Lock the Steering Column using the j-42640 pin through the access hole while you detach the intermediate steering shaft seal from the column and disconnect the steering shaft from the column. First collapse the intermediate steering shaft by pushing it down before undoing the intermediate steering shaft seal bolts to unmount the seal from the steering gear thus removing the entire assembly. Place the new intermediate steering shaft seal inside the vehicle before attaching the lower seal to the intermediate shaft and steering gear while the upper seal should sit on top of the lower seal on the dash panel. Connect and join the intermediate steering shaft onto the Steering Column followed by installing the intermediate steering shaft seal to the column and securing the seal bolts at 3 nm (27 lb in). Finally, remove the j-42640 pin.

    Q:
How to replace the Steering Column Seal on the intermediate shaft on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for replacing the intermediate Steering Shaft seal requires turning off the ignition while removing the key to lock the Steering Column. Detach the intermediate shaft seal from the Steering Column before you separate the intermediate shaft from the column. Bring down the intermediate shaft using a stick tool until it collapses and then extract its bolt retaining the intermediate shaft seal. The lower segment of the intermediate shaft seal requires removal from the steering gear before the seal can be taken out. Instance the lower seal onto the intermediate shaft while it rests on the steering gear and then install the upper seal which should cover both lower and upper sections before being directed toward the instrument panel. Connect the intermediate shaft to the Steering Column while installing the intermediate shaft seal onto the Steering Column's surface. Put intermediate shaft seal bolts in place and fasten them to 3 nm (27 inch lbs.) torque while following fastener notice in service precautions.

    Q:
How to replace the intermediate steering column seal on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the intermediate steering shaft seal requires intermediate shaft removal. As part of the installation process for the intermediate shaft seal you need to make sure the seal and inner race are correctly positioned since a defective steering column to cowl panel seal requires immediate replacement to stop the entry of carbon monoxide into the vehicle that represents a life-threatening risk to the driver and passengers. Finally, reinstall the intermediate shaft.

Collapse the intermediate shaft using downward force before removing the intermediate shaft seal bolts though you might need to separate the lower fragment of the intermediate shaft seal from the steering gear. You need to take away the intermediate shaft seal from the Steering Column. Begin installation by positioning the intermediate shaft lower seal onto the steering gear then follow with placement of the upper seal over the lower seal until it reaches the instrument panel. First install the intermediate shaft onto the Steering Column then position the intermediate shaft seal onto the Steering Column. The intermediate shaft seal bolts need to be tightened to 3 n.m (27 lb in).
