Start by unscrewing a torx(R) head screw on the upper shroud and then disconnect the upper shroud. First detach the wire harness straps from the steering wheel column wire harness and next separate the retaining ring and inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil from the Steering Shaft. When installing the components make sure wheel controls face forward and that the block tooth and centering mark aligns on the race and upper shaft assembly at its 12 o'clock position. To achieve centering of the coil assembly use instructions described on its accompanying notice. New sir coil assemblies will arrive with built-in centering but you should verify its position anyway. Position the sir coil assembly over the horn tower of the turn signal cancel cam assembly before installing the wave washer onto the upper shaft assembly while sliding coil assembly onto the race and upper shaft assembly. After removing the centering tab discard it while installing the retaining ring. Mount the upper shroud in place using one torx(R) head screw then fasten it to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Two pan head tapping screws secure the lower shroud to the assembly. Tighten these screws to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). Position the tilt lever into the steering column then move the tilt lever handle until it locks into place. Begin wiring setup through the steering wheel after steering wheel placement along the Steering Shaft marker before you tighten the steering wheel nut to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). After wiring the sir module connect all cables before installing the inflatable restraint steering wheel module and enabling the sir system.

Mount the upper shroud using one torx (R) head screw to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in) before the lower shroud is fastened by two pan head tapping screws to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). Line up and slide the tilt lever into the front of the steering column until it locks, run the wiring through the top of the Steering Wheel, and then align the Steering Wheel up with the marking on the Steering Shaft, then install the nut for the Steering Wheel, tighten it to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Finally, connect the wiring to the sr module, then install the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module, then turn the sir system on.
