  • Q: How to Properly Service and Repair the Ignition Control Module on Buick LeSabre?
    A:
    In order to replace the Ignition Control Module you must first turn the ignition off and pull the 14-way connector from the Ignition Control Module (ICM). Next, remove the Spark Plug Wires from the coil assemblies, recording their position as well as where they are going to be disconnected from. Take out the screws that hold coil assemblies on icm, and then take out coils and icm out of the bracket. For installation, add the coils and the Ignition Control Module to the bracket and include screws to hold in place, tighten to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Connect the Spark Plug Wires and connect the 14-way connector to the module and tighten the screw with the tightening force of 2.1 n.m (19 lb in).
